Doctors

Dr Christine Foster (f)

dr-foster-200_(2).jpgChristine graduated from Bristol in 1983 and joined Newland Surgery in 1988. Special medical interests include Diabetes. Christine is a GP trainer, and supervises the training and education of medical students and trainee GP's.

She is married with two teenage children and a cocker spaniel.

Dr Foster is available for appointments on Tuesday and Wednesday   each week.

Dr Ruth Lawes (f)

ruth5.jpgRuth graduated from Bristol University in 1996 and spent several years working as a GP in North Somerset before relocating further south. She joined the practice in 2011. She is married to a Yeovil Hospital Consultant, and has 2 children.

Outside of work, her time is spent keeping fit, gardening and standing on the side of football or cricket pitches supporting her two boys. Dr Lawes works Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Dr Matthew Phelan (m)

dr_phelan.jpgMatt graduated from Kings College London in 2002 and has an interest in Palliative Medicine. He is married and outside interests include all sports, particularly cycling and triathlons. Matt see's patient's all day on Mondays, Tuesday mornings and Thursday afternoons and visits our local Nursing and Residential homes on Thursday morning.

Dr Sally Dangerfield (f)

Dr Dangerfield
Dr Dangerfield graduated from Birmingham Medical School in 1992 and joined the Army until 2006 as a GP travelling to interesting places and living in a lot of tents! She moved to Dorset on 2008 and joined the practice in September 2015.



She is married to a pilot and they have two children. Outside of work Dr Dangerfield loves travel, cooking, golf, fly fishing  and Pilates.



Dr Dangerfield  is available for appointments on Monday mornings, Tuesdays and Thursdays. She visits the Prep School in Sherborne each week.
                  

Dr Aimee Barnes (f)

Dr Barnes joined the practice as a GP Registrar in August 2016. Having passed all her exams she has joined the practice as a fully qualified General Practitioner.

Dr Barnes works Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays
