Nurse Practitioners

Leah Hughes (f)

Our Nurse Practitioners are advanced registered nurses educated and trained to support the team in the diagnosis and treatment of acute illness.

Leah has completed a recognised Nurse Practitioner qualification in addition to nurse training, and are able to prescribe medications, if you need them.

Our Nurse Practitioners will be able to diagnose and treat problems and order investigations such as X-rays and blood tests, if you require them.  The Nurse Practitioners can also refer to specialists, if required, however, more long term problems should be seen by the patients usual GP.

Leah is qualified in contraception services and is able to talk through options, as well as fit both implants and coils.

Debbie Brewer (f)

Debbie joined the practice in October 2018 as an advanced nurse practitioner. She is able to assess acute problems, prescribe medication when appropriate and can refer for x-rays and hosptial appointments if necessary.

Debbie works three days a week.

Nurses

The practice nurses are available Monday to Friday with appointments during the day and for your convenience early morning and evening slots are available. Appointments with the nurses can be pre booked with book on the day slots available to improve urgent access.

Healthcare Assistants

Sara Holder 

Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.

Klaire Whittle (nee Marsden)

Klaire is one of our Healthcare Assistants. You may have appointments with Klaire to have your blood pressure taken, to take blood, to have an ECG or an Over 75 Health Check.
